Estelle Edmonds Grappe, 86 years of age, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence in Natchitoches. She was born October 29, 1930, to Webb John Edmonds and Mavonie Walsh Edmonds in Natchitoches Parish, LA.
She grew up in Campti, LA and graduated from Campti High School in 1947. She attended Northwestern State College, Northwest Vo-Tech School, and Bossier Parish Community College, where she ultimately earned her associates degree. She retired from Springhill Motor Company in 2015 and was a resident of Springhill, LA for 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Camaron Christopher Colvin; and her brother, Malcolm Edmonds.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Grappe of Natchitoches, LA, Charles Grappe, Jr. and his wife Kem of Sarepta, LA, and Charlotte Colvin and her husband Bob of Springhill, LA. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Daley and her husband Blake of Little Rock, AR, Leah Bodenhamer and her husband Mike of Natchitoches, LA, Matt Colvin and his wife Megan of Dallas, TX, Jessica Snider of Taylor, AR, Trey Grappe of Taylor AR, and Catherine Dove Colvin of Springhill, LA; as well as her great-grandchildren, Abigail Bodenhamer, Landry Kate Colvin, Camaron Stuart Colvin, Victoria James Daley and Bennett Snider; and her sister, Nell Edmonds of Shreveport, LA.
She will be laid to rest beside her parents at Zion Baptist Cemetery in Fairview Alpha, LA. A private graveside service will be held.
